Job summary

Luxury Residential Contractor in New York seeks an experienced cabinetmaker for a medium-sized shop focused on one-off custom pieces. You will read blueprints, create material takeoffs, cut sheets, and fabricate cabinetry ready for installation.

Expect hands-on work with veneer, plywood and solid wood, plus assembly and hardware installation. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of cabinetry fabrication experience, strong tool skills, and the ability to work from detailed drawings in a precise, safe

• Minimum 5 years experience in custom cabinetry fabrication.
• Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• Create material takeoffs and cut sheets from detailed drawings.
• Fabricate and assemble cabinetry ready for installation.
• Proficiency with veneer, solid wood and plywood.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate custom cabinetry from detailed blueprints and shop drawings.
• Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• Create material takeoffs and cut sheets.
• Cut and join wood to make parts as plans.
• Assemble cabinets and furniture from components.
• Install cabinet hardware (slides, hinges, locks, handles).
• Use hand and power tools to complete tasks.
• Read tape measure for measuring cabinet components.
• Fabricate jigs and fixtures for repeatable fit.
• Operate heavy woodworking machines (panel saw, table saw, shaper, etc.).
• Assist with loading cabinetry for delivery and shop cleaning.

Custom cabinet shop seeking experienced cabinetmaker. Medium size shop environment. Building one-off custom pieces. A qualified candidate must meet to following abilitiesand experience:

• Minimum 5 years experience with custom cabinetry fabrication.
• Build custom cabinetry ready for installation.
• Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• Create material takeoffs and cut sheets from detailed blueprints and shop drawing specifications.
• Cutting and joining wood to make parts according to the plans.
• Assembling cabinets and furniture from shaped components.
• Install cabinet and furniture hardware according to specifications, including slides, hinges, locks and handles.
• Utilize hand and power tools such drills, sanders, and routers to complete work assignments.
• Read tape measure for measuring and cutting cabinet components.
• Fabricate jigs and fixtures for accurate and repeatable execution of critical fit components.
• Skill in using veneer, solid wood, plywood and other types of wood.
• Operate a variety of heavy woodworking machines such as panel saw, table saw, shaper, planer, jig saw, band saw, radial saw, drill press, etc.
• Assist with loading cabinetry for delivery. Assist with cleaning shop when needed.
