Job summary

Dowbuilt is hiring cabinetmakers for our Seattle-area Woodshop, focusing on high-quality fabrication of casework, millwork, and bespoke furniture. You will translate shop drawings into finished products, maintain safety and quality, and contribute to production output in a fast-paced shop.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high quality finish work on cabinets, shelves, furniture, and related structures.
  • Match materials for color, grain, or texture; ensure proper joints and connections.
  • Move and coordinate tasks; monitor daily production expectations.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain woodworking machines to produce parts.
  • Review submittals and shop drawings; maintain a clean, organized shop.
  • Unload deliveries, perform site installs when needed.

Job description

We’ll be adding cabinetmakers to our Woodshop in SODO this summer, and would like to hear from qualified individuals exploring new opportunities. Cabinetmakers are responsible for executing high-quality fabrication and assembly of architecturally designed casework, millwork, and bespoke furniture. This role contributes directly to production output and craftsmanship standards by translating shop drawings into precise, finished products. A successful Cabinetmaker is self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and committed to continuous learning while maintaining strong productivity, safety, and quality standards.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a cabinetmaker in our busy shop, you will:

  • Perform high quality finish work in the construction, repair and assembly of cabinets, shelves, furniture, and other wooden structures using woodworking machines and hand tools
  • Match materials for color, grain, or texture; fit and connect parts ensuring proper joints and connections
  • Assist in the coordination and prioritization of work assignments
  • Stay on top of daily production expectations
  • Monitor and assess individual performance and make improvements when necessaryAssist with tool maintenance and calibration
  • Setup, operate and maintain woodworking machines to produce cabinet and furniture parts
  • Guide others on proper tool use
  • Disassemble cabinets and furniture and remove hardware for repair and refinishing; reassemble making repairs where necessary
  • Review submittals and shop drawings
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop
  • Unload deliveries and perform site installs
  • Earn and maintain the trust of our clients
  • Perform similar or related duties as assigned
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

To be successful as a cabinetmaker, you’ll need:

  • Valid driver’s license; occasional operation of company vehicles may be required
  • Ability to travel locally for installations (less than 10%)
  • Ability to work while wearing required PPE
  • 2+ years of cabinet shop experience or related education
  • Basic knowledge of woodworking materials, tools, and fabrication processes
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings
  • Familiarity with wood species, grain patterns, and material characteristics
  • Ability to plan and prioritize daily work to meet production expectations
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Basic math skills (arithmetic, geometry) applied to fabrication tasks
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and execute accurately
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • Active listener who asks questions and seeks clarity
  • Team-oriented with a respectful and collaborative approach
  • Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic

The compensation range for this position is $25.00 – $36.00 per hour
