Installation Lead

Location: Green Bay, WI

Position Overview

A well-established custom cabinet manufacturer is seeking an experienced Installation Lead to oversee installation crews while personally performing high-end custom cabinetry and millwork installations.

This is a hands-on leadership position for an experienced cabinet installer who is equally comfortable working in the field, solving complex installation challenges, maintaining exceptional craftsmanship standards, and training and leading a team.

The company specializes in mid-to-high-end residential projects, including luxury new construction, kitchens, baths, laundry rooms, closets, kitchen bars, outdoor cabinetry, and custom millwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and direct installation crews on residential job sites.
• Personally perform high-end custom cabinetry, countertop, and wood/laminate casework installations.
• Perform precision finish work, including crown molding, scribes, miters, bevels, and other detailed custom applications.
• Assign installation teams to projects and coordinate finish trips and service work.
• Oversee daily job-site operations and make final quality decisions.
• Train, mentor, and develop junior installers.
• Coordinate job-site logistics, including loading, unloading, and organization of materials and tools.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners, general contractors, project managers, and other job-site personnel.
• Monitor project progress and communicate updates to management.
• Track outstanding work, adjustments, parts, and re-orders through completion.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and installation plans.
• Travel to various project sites as needed, including occasional overnight travel.
• Maintain a high standard of craftsmanship, organization, safety, and professionalism.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in custom and finish cabinetry required.
• 2+ years of experience leading or managing an installation team.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong experience with custom cabinetry and finish carpentry.
• Advanced ability to use tape measures and specialized power tools.
• Strong blueprint and shop drawing interpretation skills.
• Ability to work with complex angles, custom moldings, premium finishes, and challenging dimensions.
• Strong problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
• Ability to lead, train, and motivate a diverse installation team.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.

Work Schedule & Travel

This is a primarily onsite position based in Green Bay, WI, with the majority of projects located at local job sites in the surrounding area.

The standard schedule is a 4-day workweek, Monday through Thursday, with approximately 10.5-hour days. Start and end times may vary depending on project location and travel requirements.

Most job sites are within driving distance of the Green Bay area, although some projects may require longer travel. Occasional overnight travel to the Minocqua area may be required, approximately twice per month.

Overtime may be required based on project needs.
