Job summary

American Woodmark in Cumberland, MD is seeking a floater for the cabinet construction assembly line. You will fill in for multiple roles, operate basic power tools, assemble and install components, and ensure quality throughout the line.

The role requires basic math and measurement skills, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lift up to 50 lb. Overtime may be required in a fast-paced plant environment.

Qualifications

  • Ability to identify cabinet types, wood species, finishes, and color variances.
  • Ability to use basic math concepts and read a standard tape measure.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble cabinets using air tools, drills, hot melt glue, jigs, and other equipment per specifications.
  • Install drawer boxes and dummy fronts; install rails/clips in completed boxes.
  • Fold and install cardboard shelf braces inside cabinets.
  • Use hinging machine to drill doors and install hinges.
  • Use scanning system to verify RFID tags inside doors and fronts.
  • Interpret production labels and assemble packing trays.
  • Ensure quality specifications are met for all trimline operations.
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment; follow safety procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
