Job Description

A220 Cabin Procurement FAL Interface (CFI) Representative to join our Procurement department based in Mobile, Alabama.

You will be part of a team developing on-site support and optimization activities for cabin suppliers dedicated to the A220 program. As part of the Procurement Cabin FAL Interface (CFI) Team, you will be involved in managing Outstanding Work (OSW), parts conformity restoration, and supplier operational alignment aiming at ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and high-quality completion of supplied cabin equipment on the assembly line.

Meet the Team

You will step into a highly autonomous role with a dual line of reporting to the Head of the On-Site Support Team for the Mobile FAL (AAPOC) and the Procurement Operation Cabin A220 organization in Canada (ABPO3). As the primary A220 Cabin Procurement representative in the U.S., you will serve as the critical operational bridge, voice, and ears between the Mobile Final Assembly Line and the Program Management team in Montreal/Mirabel. Your team thrives on crisis management, cross-border networking, and protecting Airbus's financial and industrial interests.

Your Working Environment

Located on the vibrant Gulf Coast, Mobile, Alabama is a rapidly growing cornerstone of the global aerospace industry, home to Airbus’s state-of-the-art A220 and A320 Final Assembly Lines. You will operate directly within a fast-paced manufacturing environment spanning both the FAL production floors and the Flight Line. This role blends hands-on local execution with international cross-functional collaboration, requiring close communication with teams across the U.S. and Canada.

How We Care for You
  • Financial Rewards: Competitive base salary, incentive compensation which may include profit-sharing schemes, retirement savings plan, and the ability to participate in an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (“ESOP”).
  • Work/Life Balance: Paid time off including personal time, holidays, and a generous paid parental leave program.
  • Health & Welfare: Comprehensive insurance coverage including medical (traditional and high-deductible health plans), prescription, dental, vision, life, disability, Employee Assistance Plan (“EAP”), and other supplemental benefit coverages.
  • Individual Development: Upskilling and development opportunities through our global Leadership University, including unlimited access to 10,000+ e-learning courses focusing on ways to develop your employability, certifications, career path, as well as the opportunity to participate in accelerated development programmes and both national and international mobility.
Your Challenges
  • Outstanding Work (OSW) Management: Serve as the central operational escalation point for the FAL and production teams to prioritize critical issues, deploy robust contingency plans, and safeguard the production schedule.
  • Cost Management & Financial Recovery: Own the tracking, verification, and financial validation of OSW costs incurred by Supplier On-Site Support (OSS) teams; drive assertive commercial claims and negotiations with suppliers to recover financial losses.
  • FAL Quality & Continuous Improvement: Partner with the conformance management team to align supplier liability, analyze recurrent damages on supplied parts, and deploy daily continuous improvement methodologies to reduce damage inflows.
  • Supplier Governance: Enforce strict adherence of Cabin OSS teams to Airbus processes, measuring and driving supplier operational reactivity to achieve peak customer satisfaction.
  • Technical Leadership & Mentoring: Train, coach, and mentor Cabin Procurement support employees while initiating and steering complex cross-functional projects (such as HoVs surveillance and new supplier introductions) across diverse stakeholder groups.
Your Boarding Pass
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial).
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of professional experience handling non-conformity management, Supply Chain operations, or industrial project management within the aerospace industry.
  • Industrial & FAL Competency: Deep understanding of global aerospace manufacturing ecosystems, operational rework mechanisms, and Final Assembly Line (FAL) business drivers.
  • Commercial Assertiveness: Strong negotiation and claim management skills to robustly safeguard Airbus’s financial, contractual, and business interests in supplier discussions.
  • Data & Tools Proficiency: High proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools (SAP, HMS, and Google Workspace) to transform raw supplier data into automated dashboards and actionable business intelligence.
  • Communication & Languages: Excellent verbal and written presentation skills in English. Proficiency in French is highly appreciated to facilitate smooth, daily exchanges with the Canada-based teams (Mirabel).
  • Autonomy & Resilience: A proven track record of operating independently on-site while managing operational emergencies and mitigating assembly-line disruptions under intense pressure.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to actively work within an industrial manufacturing plant, Final Assembly Line (FAL), and flight line environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 10% domestically and internationally based on departmental and program needs.
