Job summary

Frazier & Deeter is seeking an Accounting Manager for its CAAS team to lead full-cycle accounting for real estate clients. You will act as the primary contact for owners and investors, guiding a team of junior accountants and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

You will oversee property-level accounting, GL maintenance, and month-end close while staying current with industry standards and regulatory changes. The role offers a hybrid work setup in the Charlotte area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA license is preferred but not mandatory.
• 6+ years of experience in public accounting, consulting, or outsourced accounting.
• Real estate-industry experience is required.
• Proficiency with Yardi is required.
• Experience with accounting software (QBO, Sage Intacct, Foundations, Xero, Netsuite) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounting for real estate clients, including property-level accounting and financial reporting.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, investors, developers, and property management teams.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable, tenant activity, and capital expenditures.
• Review bank reconciliations, escrow accounts, and tax filings.
• Train and develop junior accountants to maintain a high-performance team.
• Review monthly financial statements for owners and stakeholders.
• Provide customized solutions based on client data and goals.
• Stay updated on accounting standards, regulatory changes, and compliance.

As an Accounting Manager within our Client Accounting Advisory Services (CAAS) team, you will play a critical leadership role specializing in supporting real estate owners, investors, developers, and property management companies. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with clients in a collaborative, office-based environment, helping to strengthen relationships and expand our growing real estate niche. You will oversee full-cycle accounting operations, serve as the primary point of contact for business owners and stakeholders, and guide a team of junior accountants through training, development, and performance excellence. Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounting for real estate clients, including property-level accounting, general ledger maintenance, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, investors, developers, and property management teams, delivering exceptional client service and strategic guidance.
• Manage accounting for real estate portfolios, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, tenant activity, and capital improvement expenditures.
• Review bank reconciliations, escrow accounts, management fee calculations, sales tax filings, and other real estate-related accounting activities.
• Manage and train junior accountants to foster a high-performance team environment, including provide feedback for growth and development.
• Review monthly financial statements for business owners and stakeholders.
• Formulate customized solutions for clients based on client data and goals.
• Stay informed on accounting standards, regulatory changes, and compliance requirements to proactively advise clients.
• Optimize workflow processes by following best practices to maximize efficiency and reduce errors
• Deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality financial information while consistently exceeding client expectations and fostering long-term client relationships.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• CPA license preferred
• 6+ years of experience in public accounting, consulting, or outsourced accounting environments
• Real Estate-industry experience required
• Proficiency with Yardi required
• Experience with accounting software preferred (e.g. QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, Foundations, Xero, Netsuite)
• Ability to design and implement efficient, scalable accounting processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
