Job summary

Treston Security Services is seeking an experienced Unarmed Security Officer for SRO-style residential properties in the Skid Row area of Downtown Los Angeles. The role requires a valid California Guard Card, strong de-escalation skills, and a professional demeanor. Shifts include Morning, Swing, and Graveyard with parking provided.

Pay ranges from $20.00–$22.00 per hour, DOE. Prior security in residential or similar environments is a plus, and there are opportunities for additional assignments

Qualifications

• Valid California Guard Card – physical card required.
• Must possess at least one less-lethal defensive tool with applicable certification/permit.
• Must be able to provide the physical less-lethal certification/permit.
• Reliable transportation.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Strong communication and verbal de-escalation skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
• Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional and visible security presence.
• Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols.
• Monitor entrances, exits, common areas, and surrounding property.
• Assist with access control and unauthorized-person prevention.
• Observe, document, and report suspicious activity and security concerns.
• Professionally address disturbances and property-related incidents.
• Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques when appropriate.
• Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies.
• Complete accurate daily activity and incident reports.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, property staff, residents, and visitors.
• Follow all post orders and Treston Security Services policies and procedures.

Treston Security Services is hiring experienced Unarmed Security Officers for SRO‑style residential properties in the Skid Row area of Downtown Los Angeles.

Pay: $20.00–$22.00/hr DOE
Location: Skid Row / Downtown Los Angeles, CA
Shifts: Morning, Swing & Graveyard available

Position Overview

We are seeking professional and dependable Unarmed Security Officers to provide a highly visible security presence at residential/SRO-style properties in Downtown Los Angeles.

This position requires strong situational awareness, sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to appropriately handle challenging interactions and security incidents.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional and visible security presence

Required Qualifications & Equipment

Candidates must meet all of the following requirements:

• Valid California Guard Card – PHYSICAL CARD REQUIRED

• Candidates must have their physical Guard Card in their possession. Providing only a license number or online verification will not meet the requirements for this position.

• Must possess at least one less-lethal defensive tool with the applicable certification, permit, or training required for that equipment

• Must be able to provide the physicalless-lethal certification/permit

• Reliable transportation

• Dependable attendance and punctuality

• Strong communication and verbal de-escalation skills

• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations

• Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor

Previous security experience is strongly preferred. Experience working in residential, SRO, supportive housing, Skid Row, or similar environments is a plus.
