Job summary

Treston Security Services is seeking professional, dependable Unarmed Security Officers for a permanent position at a residential housing property located in the Downtown Los Angeles/Skid Row area.

Officers must be comfortable in an active urban environment, interacting with residents, visitors, property management, and service providers. Prior security experience and a California BSIS Guard Card are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Valid and current California BSIS Guard Card
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must be comfortable working in the Downtown Los Angeles/Skid Row area
• Must be available to work one of the posted schedules consistently
• Must be dependable, punctual, professional, and able to report to scheduled shifts on time
• Strong communication, observation, and customer‑service skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional during stressful or confrontational situations
• Ability to write clear, accurate, and detailed activity and incident reports
• Must maintain a working cellphone for operational communication
• Must maintain a professional appearance and comply with all uniform and grooming requirements
• Must successfully complete all applicable company screening and onboarding requirements

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional, alert, and highly visible security presence
• Monitor entrances, exits, common areas, and surrounding property areas
• Conduct routine interior and exterior foot patrols
• Assist with access control and enforcement of property rules
• Observe and report suspicious, unsafe, or unauthorized activity
• Respond appropriately to disturbances, emergencies, and resident concerns
• Use professional communication and verbal de‑escalation techniques
• Contact emergency services when circumstances require immediate assistance
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol documentation
• Immediately notify Treston management of serious incidents or emergencies
• Coordinate professionally with property management, law enforcement, fire personnel, and emergency medical services
• Maintain confidentiality regarding residents, incidents, and property operations
• Follow all post orders, company policies, and client-specific procedures
• Participate in required training, briefings, and performance evaluations
• Perform other security-related duties as assigned
