Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking a dynamic Stormwater Plans Specialist in California to develop and submit WPCPs, SWPPPs, and related environmental plans, coordinating with clients and supporting permit compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of construction stormwater inspection experience or 7+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Thorough understanding of the California Construction General Permit and environmental compliance requirements.
• Experience with SMARTS NOIs, COIs, Annual Reports, Ad Hoc Reports, and NOTs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; Adobe Acrobat and Bluebeam experience.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit WPCPs, SWPPPs, amendments, and other regulatory plans.
• Coordinate plan submittals and act as primary client contact throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support permit compliance activities, including SMARTS entries and submittals for NOIs, COIs, Annual Reports, Ad Hoc Reports, and NOTs.
• Review project plans, specifications, permit requirements, risk assessments, and supporting documentation.
• Serve as subject matter expert on California General Permit requirements and environmental compliance regulations.
• Evaluate environmentally sensitive projects, including dewatering systems, diversion plans, spill prevention plans, and hazardous materials requirements.
• Coordinate project transitions between estimating, submittals, inspection, and invoicing teams.
• Maintain project schedules, tracking systems, and quality control processes.
