Tycko & Zavareei LLP is seeking a sharp, organized, and driven Paralegal to join its Oakland office—on a full-time hybrid basis—and support its attorneys in high-impact cases. Important: To be considered, you must have at least one year of professional experience in a legal support role under the supervision of a qualified attorney. This could be as a paralegal, legal assistant, paralegal trainee, or similar position. Position Overview:

1. Location: Oakland, CA (Hybrid—typically 2–3 days in-office/week)
2. Schedule: Full-time (Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week with occasional overtime) | Hourly | Nonexempt
3. Start Date: May 2025
4. Salary Range: $65,000–$85,000/year, based on experience

Our CA Paralegal is part of our small Litigation Support Team, reporting to the Managing Partner. The role involves providing case assistance across all litigation stages, including case management, organization, drafting, research, coordination, and administrative tasks.

What You’ll Do:

• Support complex civil litigation cases, including discovery, filings, and court preparation
• Assist attorneys with legal and administrative tasks across multiple matters
• Conduct legal research, organize case files, and maintain attorney calendars
• Coordinate with clients, law firms, courts, and vendors
• Manage filings and pleadings electronically according to court rules and federal procedures
• Participate in team meetings and provide operational support as needed
• Work occasional overtime when required

What We’re Looking For:

• At least one year of experience in a legal support role under a qualified attorney
• Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance from an accredited institution
• 1–4 years of experience in a fast-paced legal environment
• Strong writing, research, organizational, and communication skills
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage deadlines and shifting priorities
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Comfort working independently in-office as the sole paralegal in the Bay Area, while collaborating with a support team remotely
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, legal research platforms, and electronic filing systems
• Willingness to commute to Oakland 2–3 days/week
• Availability to start by May 12, 2025

Additional desirable skills include understanding civil litigation processes, experience with PACER, California court filings, Bluebooking, and legal billing.
