Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. is seeking a CNA for per diem coverage on the Acute Rehab Unit at Northwest Specialty Hospital in Reno, NV. The role focuses on safe, competent nursing assistant care and supporting the healthcare team with Patient Centered Care foundations.

The ideal candidate will have a Nevada CNA license, BLS, and ideally 1 year FT or 3 years PT experience in acute care. This position emphasizes a dynamic, compassionate approach in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, brings expanded services to a new building located at 6225 Sharlands Ave. in Northwest Reno. The facility will offer acute rehabilitation and adult behavioral health services.

Our acute rehabilitation services include occupational, speech, and physical therapy for adults recovering from stroke, injury, or another disabling condition. We offer advanced treatment for a wide range of conditions including stroke, brain injury, amputation, neurological disorders, major multiple traumas and spinal cord and back injuries. All patients will experience private rooms, have access to a newly renovated therapy gym, and personalized care from our qualified staff.

The adult behavioral health services offered is an expansion to our current 50 and older program at NNMC. The new program will offer behavioral health services to all adults 18 years and older. The department is managed through a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, CNAs, social workers, and therapists. Patients will experience an individualized care plan, inclusive of individual and family therapy, activities, medication management, and a 24-hour secure, compassionate environment.

This C.N.A. opportunity is a per diem position on our Acute Rehab Unit and offer a convenient schedule. We are looking for a dynamic C.N.A. to provide safe, competent nursing assistant care for our patients. You will also provide professional support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Completes Bedside shift report in the room at the beginning and end of each shift. Ensures patient is provided with the names and contact numbers for members of the care team on the communication board every shift.
• Meets with Supervising RN at the beginning of each shift to receive delegation of tasks.
• Involves the patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population specific, and diversity needs in care.
