Job summary

Hudson River Trading (HRT) uses C++ as the core of its live trading systems and research infrastructure. Engineers design high-performance, fault-tolerant software powering trading across global markets, focusing on microsecond-scale latency and throughput.

As part of a collaborative team with researchers, traders, and hardware specialists, you will develop infrastructure for market data, order entry, and execution, while optimizing for latency and reliability.

Qualifications

1+ years of professional work experience.
Superior design, debugging, and problem solving skills.
Advanced C++ experience is required, daily use preferred.
Knowledge of UNIX operating systems (Linux), system/processor performance, and network communication.

Responsibilities

Develop and optimize infrastructure for market data, order entry and execution logic across multiple asset classes.
Design fault-tolerant, low-latency systems for live trading, including data encoding over WAN links and recovery from hardware failures.
Profile and improve performance-critical code for throughput and latency in production environments.
Build and maintain infrastructure that drives products including distributed networks and scalable research workflows.
Write software interfacing with hardware such as FPGAs and ASICs used in trading systems.
