Job summary

RemoteLeads is seeking an experienced software engineer to lead the modernization of a legacy Store Management System. You will reverse engineer EZC structures, design migration strategies, and build enterprise-grade solutions in C/C++.

The role involves API/middleware development, ETL processes, and PostgreSQL schema design to ensure data integrity and performance across distributed environments. You will work with AI-assisted development tools, mentor engineers, and document architectural

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on C/C++ development.
• Strong C, C++, and SQL proficiency in enterprise environments.
• Experience with large-scale legacy systems and data modernization.
• Relational database design and migration experience.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and observability.
• Preferred experience with PostgreSQL, Python, cloud modernization, and DevOps/CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Lead modernization of a legacy Store Management System.
• Reverse engineer EZC file structures and data access patterns.
• Design migrations and transition architectures for legacy-modern coexistence.
• Develop and refactor enterprise solutions using C/C++.
