Job Description

The C-26 Fairchild Metroliner - Army Transport Aircraft Mechanic (FAA A&P) performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on C-26 aircraft. The level of mechanic is based on years of specific C-26 hands-on A&P mechanic experience.

• Responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness.
• Tasks include work on avionics & electrical systems, engines, flight controls, and airframe components.
• Repairs are performed using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.
• Must comply with aircraft records procedures outlined in DA PAM 738-751 and ensure discrepancies are properly recorded.
• Understand and utilize computerized maintenance software.
• Perform aircraft recovery missions as necessary and engine run or taxi operations, with certification required within 12 months of employment.
• Read and interpret manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and specifications for repairs or replacements.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid FAA A&P Certificate.
• Experience levels vary: AM-1 (2+ years A&P, 2+ years C-26 preferred), AM-2 (5+ years C-26 experience), AM-3 (10+ years A&P and 13+ years C-26 experience).
• Valid Driver's License.
• Mechanic tools and toolbox, with tools etched with PID.
• Willingness to work any shift under Union CBA, currently M-F 40 hours/week.
• Medical/Physical exam clearance for operations near aircraft.

Security Clearance

• Ability to obtain and maintain US Govt Secret Security Clearance, US Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Compliance with FAA regulations and contract PWS.
• Ability to work rotating shifts.
• Valid FAA A&P license, recent experience per FAR 65.83.
• Fluent in English, reliable, self-motivated, and able to handle stressful situations.
• Physical ability to move about aircraft and lift up to 50 lbs.
