Job summary

Bournewood Health Systems – Brookline & Woburn, MA seeks an experienced, independently licensed clinician to lead all outpatient PHP operations across our Brookline and Woburn sites. The Director of Outpatient Services will guide clinical and administrative staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and develop partnerships to support growth and recovery‑oriented care.

All Bournewood employees are trained to uphold these values and to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff.**Position Summary**The Director of Outpatient Services is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and growth of Bournewood’s Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHPs). This role includes direct oversight of program operations, clinical and administrative staff, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and external partnerships to ensure the delivery of effective, accessible, and recovery-oriented care.**Key Responsibilities*** Provide leadership and oversight of day-to-day operations of all PHP operations at Brookline and Woburn locations. Providing support and supervision to site program managers.* Recruit, hire, train, and supervise program staff; ensure ongoing professional development, performance evaluation, and accountability.* Provide clinical and administrative supervision, including oversight of graduate student interns and partnerships with academic programs.* Coordinate care across an interdisciplinary team (physicians, nurses, advanced practice clinicians, psychologists, LICSWs, LMHCs, etc.) to ensure integrated, patient-centered treatment.* Collaborate with senior leadership, including the CEO, CMO, Director of Business Development and Director of Inpatient Clinical Services, to align program initiatives with organizational goals.* Ensure compliance with Bournewood policies, Joint Commission standards, CMS regulations, and third-party payer requirements.* Monitor billing practices and work with the Billing Department to support fiscal accountability.* Oversee managed care and service contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual and budgetary requirements.* Monitor and assist with utilization reviews and authorizations assuring proper units and dates are requested in a timely manner. Working closely with the UR department.* Foster and maintain relationships with referral sources (ESPs, hospitals, schools, detox programs, and community agencies).* Lead program quality improvement efforts, including monitoring patient satisfaction data and identifying opportunities for enhancement.* Facilitate and lead regular staff and departmental meetings; actively participate in organizational committees and external collaborations.**Required Qualifications*** Graduate degree in a human services field (MSW, MA, MS, PhD, EdD, or equivalent).* Independent clinical licensure in Massachusetts.
