Job summary

The City of New York's Police Department seeks an Agency Attorney Intern to assist the Body Worn Camera Unit with processing FOIL and CCRB requests and related inquiries. You will analyze requests, locate responsive footage, and perform redactions in compliance with policy while coordinating with supervisors, attorneys, and investigators to meet deadlines.

Training will cover handling multiple FOIL requests from start to finish, ensuring privacy and discovery requirements are met.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing the request, contacting the requester, locating responsive footage, reviewing said footage for necessary redactions, making all applicable redactions, and ensuring that said redactions are correct.
• Liaising with supervisors, attorneys and investigators to determine that requests are appropriate and meeting articulated deadlines.
• Receive training in handling multiple FOIL requests from start to finish.
