Confidential, an Austin-area manufacturing company, is seeking an organized Buyer / Supply Chain Coordinator to support purchasing, material availability, supplier communication, and general administrative needs across the operation. This role combines purchasing and supply-chain coordination with administrative support.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in purchasing, buyer, material-coordination, supply-chain, or related manufacturing experience.
  • Experience creating and managing purchase orders through an ERP or MRP system.
  • Experience obtaining supplier quotes, comparing purchasing options, and tracking orders through delivery.
  • Strong Excel, Microsoft Office, data-entry, documentation, and recordkeeping skills.
  • Strong organization and follow-through with ability to manage multiple changing priorities.
  • Clear, professional communication when working with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Willingness to support administrative and operational needs outside of core purchasing responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Review production requirements, inventory levels, open orders, and operational priorities to identify purchasing needs.
  • Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders for materials, supplies, services, and other operational requirements.
  • Request and compare supplier quotes based on pricing, quality, lead time, freight, payment terms, and delivery requirements.
  • Track supplier acknowledgments, open purchase orders, promised delivery dates, and past-due items.
  • Proactively expedite materials and communicate potential shortages or delays.
  • Coordinate purchased services and externally processed items from order placement through completion and return.
  • Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, lead-time, purchasing, and material information in the ERP system.
  • Work with internal teams to resolve receiving, quantity, documentation, and invoice discrepancies.
  • Support supplier returns, replacements, vendor setup, credit applications, freight coordination, and routine supplier communication.
  • Maintain purchasing files, quote history, order confirmations, shipping documents, certifications, and related records.
  • Assist with inventory reviews, cycle-count follow-up, ERP data cleanup, and purchasing-process improvements.
  • Prepare reports, update spreadsheets, organize electronic and physical records, enter data, and maintain operational documentation.
  • Assist with scheduling, meeting coordination, document preparation, communications, and other general office or operational administrative needs.
  • Provide administrative support to leadership and other departments as business needs require.
  • Perform other purchasing, supply-chain, operational, and administrative duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience purchasing materials, supplies, services, or externally processed items for a manufacturing operation.
  • Experience supporting inventory control, receiving, production, or material-planning activities.
  • Previous experience in a blended purchasing, operations-coordination, or administrative-support role.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.

This is a full-time, on-site position in the Austin, Texas metropolitan area.
