Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop an efficient and accurate system for monitoring all open Purchase Orders (POs), ensuring priority items are delivered on time
- Maintain proper purchasing controls in accordance with company policy
- Review requisitions for proper purchasing authority/specifications and convert requisitions into POs using independent judgment and discretion for vendor selection
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and B.O.Ms
- Evaluate raw material suppliers’ price and delivery for the purchase of bar, tube, and casing
- Evaluate machine shop capabilities and request quotes for 3rd party manufacturing
- Review and select vendors based on quality requirements, delivery times, and the most favorable price
- Participates in vendor negotiations and contract reviews
- Perform buying of sellable and rental equipment from approved vendors to meet the needs of Superior Operations Group and the Customer
- Assist Accounts Payable in ensuring vendors meet distribution requirements
- Identify and qualify new vendors and maintain current vendor relationships
- Coordinate with Inventory Management to ensure all deliveries satisfy the assigned POs and report/negate any back-ordered or missing products
- Assist in physical inventories and drive proper inventory levels
- Establish reliable lines of contact with operations management & engineering teams to ensure all POs are accurate

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- One to three years of related experience in supply chain management/buyer and/or a combination of education and experience.
- Preference given to candidates with oil and gas industry experience.
- Preference is given to candidates with a degree in Supply Chain Management, Accounting, or a related field.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Exercises independent judgment and discretion over significant matters relating to the procurement of products while maintaining sufficient margins to be profitable.
- Strong negotiating skills
- Knowledge of contract pricing agreements
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and BOMs.
- Knowledge of raw material, bar, tube, and casing
- Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and industry standard PO software (Microsoft D365)
- Understanding of Supply Chain practices used in the oil and gas industry
- Knowledge relating to completion services procedures and processes
- Current practices, equipment, materials, and supplies used in the completion tools business
- Ethical business practices
