Job summary

Performance Foodservice in Fort Worth, Texas is seeking a Procurement professional to negotiate the purchase of quality produce products at competitive prices and maintain inventories to meet customer demand. You will be a team member within the department and cross-functions, performing any duty to best serve the company.

The role emphasizes price negotiation, cost controls, and efficient buying strategies to maximize margins while coordinating with vendors and sales staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience.
• 1-2 years Purchasing or related area.

Responsibilities

• Attain targeted profit margins as determined by the company’s business goals. Maintain produce costing and pricing and ensure accurate purchase orders.
• Effectively implement buying/purchasing strategies such that produce is purchased in the most cost-effective and efficient manner.
• Manage protein inventory levels to the designated goal level.
• Effectively manage the disposition of obsolete produce inventory.
• Consult with vendors regarding current orders and new produce products. Initiate orders, schedule deliveries and process related paperwork and documentation. Provide product and pricing information to sales staff. Investigate produce product quality complaints.
• Complete special projects, as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Summary:
