Performance Foodservice, a broadline distributor within the Performance Food Group family, is seeking a Produce Purchaser to negotiate quality produce at competitive prices and maintain inventories to meet customer demand.
You will work with vendors, sales staff, and cross-functional teams to optimize pricing, secure favorable terms, and ensure timely deliveries while supporting the distribution network.
Performance Foodservice, PFG's broadline distributor, maintains a unique relationship with a variety of local customers, including independent restaurants and hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. A team of sales reps, chefs, consultants, and other experts builds close relationships with customers - providing advice on improving operations, menu development, product selection, and operational strategies. The Performance team delivers delicious food but also goes above and beyond to help independent restaurant owners achieve their dreams.
Responsible for negotiating the purchase of quality produce products at competitive prices and maintaining adequate inventories to meet customer demand. Functions as a team member within the department and cross-functions, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.
High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
1 - 2 years Purchasing or related area
Associates/2-year technical: Procurement, business management or related area
2-4 years of purchasing produce and/or perishables experience within foodservice industry
Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP)
