Performance Food Group is seeking a dedicated Purchasing professional to negotiate buys for quality produce and maintain inventory to meet customer demand. This role works with cross-functional teams to optimize costs and ensure timely deliveries in a fast-paced foodservice environment.
The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of purchasing experience and a background in procurement, with CPP certification preferred.
Performance Foodservice, PFG's broadline distributor, maintains a unique relationship with a variety of local customers, including independent restaurants and hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. A team of sales reps, chefs, consultants, and other experts builds close relationships with customers - providing advice on improving operations, menu development, product selection, and operational strategies. The Performance team delivers delicious food but also goes above and beyond to help independent restaurant owners achieve their dreams.
Responsible for negotiating the purchase of quality produce products at competitive prices and maintaining adequate inventories to meet customer demand. Functions as a team member within the department and cross-functions, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.
High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
1 - 2 years Purchasing or related area
Associates/2-year technical: Procurement, business management or related area
2-4 years of purchasing produce and/or perishables experience within foodservice industry
Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP)
