We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Buyer/Purchasing Agent in Dallas, Texas, supporting the direct air capture (DAC) facilities currently in development and planned in the coming years. Direct air capture uses proven industrial processes to remove carbon dioxide (CO2) directly from ambient air. This CO2 can then be stored safely and securely underground or used to make things needed in everyday life. These facilities are important as they help enable companies, in hard-to-abate industries, to reach their global climate targets.

Essential Job Duties:

• Work closely with the DAC plant, operations team, and strategic sourcing to understand the needs of the DAC plant and drive OxyChem procurement integration.
• Purchase goods and services at the most favorable costs and support the use of national strategic suppliers in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
• Specific duties including spare part identification, creating purchase orders, expediting orders, reconciling past due orders, resolving invoicing errors, and assuring compliance with our contractor management program.
• Provide after-hours purchasing support.
• Drive exceptional performance from DAC suppliers and leverage those relationships to drive process improvements. This includes oversight and reporting of metrics related to supplier performance, cost savings, and total spend.
• Assist Strategic Souring with supplier development as requested.
• Ensure that all activities are made in compliance with corporate policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree (supply chain, industrial distribution, engineering, business, or communications preferred).
• A minimum of two years' supply chain or purchasing experience.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders, work independently with little instruction, and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks.
• Strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
• Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate, develop, and implement action plans.
• Proficiency in ERP systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI)
• Some travel required.

Additional Desired Qualifications:

• Chemical industry experience, including working with cross functional teams.
• Knowledge of purchasing terms, concepts, processes, procedures and contract terms.
• SAP S/4 HANA and Ariba enterprise software experience desired.
