Job Overview

OxyChem is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Buyer/Purchasing Agent in Dallas, Texas, supporting direct air capture (DAC) facilities. This role involves procurement, supplier relationship management, and supporting environmental initiatives to meet climate targets.

Essential Job Duties
  1. Collaborate with DAC plant, operations, and sourcing teams to understand procurement needs.
  2. Purchase goods/services at favorable costs, support strategic suppliers, and ensure compliance with policies.
  3. Manage purchase orders, expedite, reconcile, and resolve invoicing issues.
  4. Provide after-hours support and drive supplier performance improvements.
  5. Assist with supplier development and report on performance metrics.
  6. Ensure all activities comply with corporate policies.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields preferred.
  • At least two years’ experience in supply chain or purchasing.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI).
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
Additional Qualifications
  • Chemical industry experience and knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA and Ariba are desirable.
