Job summary

Coburn Technologies is seeking a Buyer/Planner to ensure timely availability of materials and services, coordinating with suppliers, manufacturing, engineering, receiving and accounting to keep production running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in purchasing or planning, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and an associate degree. CPP certification is a plus in this fast-paced role that seeks continuous process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders, requisitions and supplier communications

• Obtain quotes, negotiate pricing and terms
• Monitor inventory, lead times and material availability
• Expedite orders and resolve production-impacting issues
• Collaborate with Receiving and Accounts Payable on discrepancies

Coburn Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a Buyer/Planner to join our team!If you’re a detail-oriented problem solver who enjoys purchasing, supplier relationships, and keeping things moving, this could be a great opportunity for you.As our Buyer/Planner, you’ll play an important role in making sure the materials and services we need are available when we need them. You’ll work closely with suppliers, manufacturing, engineering, receiving, and accounting to keep production running smoothly and our customer commitments on track.What You’ll Be Doing:Manage purchase orders, requisitions, and supplier communicationsBuild strong relationships with suppliers and identify new sourcing opportunitiesObtain and analyze quotes, negotiate pricing and terms, and support cost reduction effortsMonitor inventory, production shortages, lead times, and material availabilityExpedite orders and resolve issues that could impact productionWork with suppliers and internal teams on quality issues and engineering changesMaintain accurate ERP planning and purchasing dataPartner with Receiving and Accounts Payable to resolve material and invoice discrepanciesLook for opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and make things work betterWhat We’re Looking For:2 to 4 years of related purchasing, planning, supply chain, or manufacturing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceStrong communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsAbility to build effective supplier and internal relationshipsComfortable working independently in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail and basic math skillsAssociate degree in Business or a related field is preferredCertified Purchasing Professional (CPP) certification is a plusWhy Coburn?This is more than a purchasing role.
