Job summary

Wolfspeed is seeking a Buyer/Planner to manage purchase orders, monitor inventory levels, and align material requirements with supplier commitments in a fast-paced semiconductor setting.

You will analyze MRP/ERP signals, collaborate with planning and category teams, and communicate daily with suppliers to resolve shortages and schedule progress. A BS and 3 years' experience are required, with strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 3 years' experience in a buying, planning, or procurement role.
• Experience with direct materials purchasing.
• Demonstrated experience in a self-directed, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Create, manage, and expedite purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of materials.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels to support production demand.
• Collaborate with planning and category management to align material requirements with supplier commitments.
• Communicate daily with suppliers regarding open orders, shortages, and schedules.
• Analyze MRP/ERP signals to drive purchasing decisions and replenishment actions.
• Support introduction of new parts or processes to aid in wafer processing.
• Identify and communicate cost savings opportunities and process improvements.

The Day-to-Day:

• Create, manage, and expedite purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of materials
• Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels to support production demand
• Collaborate with planning and category management teams to align material requirements with supplier commitments
• Communicate daily with suppliers regarding open orders, shortages, delivery schedules, and escalations
• Analyze MRP/ERP system signals to drive purchasing decisions and replenishment actions
• Support the introduction of new parts or processes to aid in the timely processing of semiconductor wafers
• Identify and communicate cost savings opportunities and process improvement ideas

This Job is Right for You if You Have :

• BS in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
• 3 years' experience in a buying, planning, or procurement role
• Experience with direct materials purchasing
• Demonstrated experience working in a self-directed, fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Energetic individual who can support a dynamic and exciting manufacturing and product line
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills
• Responsive with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage supplier relationships on a day-to-day basis and resolve supply issues effectively
  

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• 3 years of experience in a Buyer/Planner role, ideally in the semiconductor industry
• Working knowledge of Oracle or SAP (MRP/ERP systems) strongly desirable
• Capable of working cross-functionally in a dynamic environment
• Certification as a supply chain professional (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP) or Quality (Six Sigma)
