Job Purpose

Manage and oversee the procurement and scheduling of materials, services, and equipment within the set policies and guidelines to ensure a continuous, timely, and cost-effective supply that meets specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Review and schedule customer orders daily.
  2. Contact potential vendors, perform reference checks, review quotations, and evaluate purchase requisitions for appropriate procurement methods.
  3. Verify purchase orders for accuracy.
  4. Prioritize commodities with key vendors and maintain these priorities.
  5. Maintain effective communication with internal and external customers.
  6. Coordinate with management at all levels.
  7. Strive to reduce costs of assigned commodities.
  8. Assist engineering in sourcing materials considering cost, quality, and availability.
  9. Generate performance reports for buyers as per specified processes.
Qualifications

Minimum

  • 2-3+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • High School Diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred in procurement or related field.
  • Proficiency in software programs including MS Office.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of foreign languages is a plus; English is essential.
  • Proactive problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Knowledge of MRP and ERP systems.
  • Higher education in business or related fields preferred.
