Job summary

Nortek Data Center Cooling, LLC is hiring a Buyer/Planner to purchase materials and services for production, manage inventory, and ensure on-time supplier delivery. You will work with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service to align supply with demand and optimize working capital.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred; associate degree required in related field.
• APICS, CPM or CPSM certification preferred.
• 3+ years experience in supply chain or related field.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, review, and maintain purchase orders to ensure material availability and support production schedules.
• Monitor open orders and communicate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials.
• Manage planning actions including expedites, de-expedites, reschedules, and cancellations.
• Build and maintain supplier relationships and resolve delivery, quality, and invoice issues.
• Collaborate with Operations, Production, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service to support schedules.
• Maintain inventory levels and support working capital objectives.
• Review forecasts and adjust planning parameters like safety stock and lead times.
• Maintain purchasing data in the ERP/MRP system.
• Complete departmental standard work and reporting per procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in purchasing and planning processes.

This role plans and manages inventory levels, places and tracks purchase orders, and works closely with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of quality materials. The Buyer/Planner collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service, to support production schedules, resolve supply issues, and maintain material availability.
