Job summary

FM Industries in Fremont, CA is seeking a Buyer, Outprocess to support our purchasing team under the Purchasing Manager. You will process and follow up on Out-Process subcontract orders, issue POs to subcontractors, confirm delivery dates, and collaborate with Receiving, Quality, Engineering and Accounting to resolve issues.

The ideal candidate has 2 years purchasing experience in manufacturing, experience with ERP systems (Epicor Vantage or SAP preferred), and solid Excel and Outlook skills to

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 2 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in Contract Manufacturing industries preferred.
• Intermediate computer and software skills, including Excel and Outlook.
• Experience utilizing an ERP system, Epicor Vantage or SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Issue purchase orders for Out-Process subcontractors using the information provided on job travelers and instructions by Program Managers
• Confirm purchase orders and delivery dates
• Work with Receiving, Quality, Engineering and Accounting to resolve discrepancies and issues
• Maintain follow-up responsibility with suppliers to ensure commitment dates are held
• Provide support to team members as needed and generate purchasing reports when required.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned
• Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment
• Successfully manage frequently changing priorities.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Under direct supervision of Purchasing Manager, process and follow up on Out-Process subcontract order. Work closely with suppliers, technical staff, and program management.

• Issue purchase orders for Out-Process subcontractors using the information provided on job travelers and instructions by Program Managers
