Job summary

Frontgrade Technologies company is seeking a Buyer IV to oversee complex purchasing procedures, strategic sourcing, and manage various buying and contracting projects while liaising between the Procurement department and customers.

  • Experience may substitute for education: 12 years for no degree, 6 for a Master's, or 3 for a PhD.

Job description

Buyer IV performs complex purchasing procedures in the acquisition of goods and services. This position performs strategic sourcing of goods and services following industry best practices, manages a range of buying and contracting projects, and guides the work efforts of other staff members. Buyer IV will serve as a liaison between the Procurement department and internal and external customers.

Responsibilities
  • Consult with department officials to determine goods and service needs and priorities; develop timelines and conduct acquisitions in compliance with procurement policy
  • Correspond with vendors concerning a range of issues including price changes, contract adjustments, terminations, and item values
  • Identify vendor performance requirements; review the performance capability of vendors and evaluate goods and services
  • Draft contracts and negotiate terms of contracts with vendors to ensure that goods and services are procured at the best value to the customer within regulations
  • Develop and implement project plans; monitor and facilitate progress and status of workflow; coordinate projects with extensive implementation challenges
  • Oversee contract administration; consult with internal customers regarding contract implementation, extension, renewal, re‑negotiation, or termination; serve as subject matter expert for departments on best practices of procurement procedures
  • Conduct analysis of the quality and performance of goods and services; perform cost/benefit and life cycle costing and commodity standardization studies
  • Resolve disputes between vendors and departments that may arise regarding a range of issues including quality of goods, delivery schedules, and other contract provisions
Qualifications
  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience in a specialized functional discipline. OR (12) years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors Degree. OR (6) years of experience may be considered w/ a Masters Degree. OR (3) years of experience may be considered w/ a PhD.
  • This position may require access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by either ITAR or EAR U.S. export laws. As a condition of any job offer, to be employed in this position, you may need to obtain a U.S. Government export license(s), as required by law.
