Job summary

Frontgrade Technologies seeks a Buyer II to perform moderately complex purchasing procedures for goods and services from multiple vendors. This role links the Procurement department with internal and external customers to ensure timely, compliant acquisitions.

Key duties include vendor communications on price, contracts, and schedules; developing solicitations and specifications; and negotiating for best value while monitoring progress and ensuring compliance with policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Management.
• Minimum two years of experience in a specialized functional discipline; or 6 years may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
• No experience required if candidate has a Master’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Correspond with vendors on price changes, contract adjustments, terminations, item values, and schedule changes.
• Prepare solicitation requests and develop specifications with customer input; assist in developing solicitations and specifications.
• Negotiate with vendors to obtain goods/services at best value.
• Analyze quality and performance of goods, supplies, equipment, and services; assist in cost/benefit, lifecycle costing, and commodity standardization studies.
• Resolve disputes between vendors and departments regarding quality or timeliness of delivery.
• Draft and review reports, correspondence, specifications, and proposals.
• Monitor progress and status of acquisitions.
• Consult with department officials to determine needs and priorities; develop timelines and ensure acquisitions comply with procurement policy.

The Buyer II performs moderately complex purchasing procedures in the acquisition of goods and services from a variety of vendors. This role serves as a liaison between the Procurement department and internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Correspond with vendors concerning a range of issues including price changes, contract adjustments, terminations, item values, and schedule changes
• Prepare solicitation requests and develop specifications with customer input and assist in the development and review of solicitations and specifications
• Participate in negotiating with vendors to obtain goods and/or services at the best value
• Conduct analysis of the quality and performance of goods, supplies, equipment, and services within assigned area; and assist in performing cost/benefit, life cycle costing, and commodity standardization studies
• Resolve disputes between vendors and departments that may arise regarding quality of goods and/or services or timeliness of delivery
• Draft and review reports, correspondence, specifications and proposals
• Monitor progress and status of assigned acquisitions
• Consult with department officials to determine goods and service needs and priorities; develop timelines and conduct acquisitions in compliance with procurement policy

Qualifications

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Management
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in a specialized functional discipline. OR (6) years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors Degree. OR No experience required in lieu of Masters Degree.
