Busch Vacuum Solutions, a leading manufacturer of vacuum pumps, compressors, and blowers, invites applications for a Buyer II – 3rd Party/Standards at our U.S. headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

The role manages procurement of external parts and services, converts MRP requisitions into POs, negotiates terms, tracks supplier performance, and supports cost and lead-time improvements. Collaboration with planning, receiving, quality, and AP is required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s preferred in Supply Chain or Business.
• Four to six years of purchasing, planning, or supply chain experience in manufacturing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• ERP system proficiency required (SAP preferred).
• APICS CPIM or CSCP preferred.
• Lean or Six Sigma credentials is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review MRP-generated requisitions and convert to POs for third-party vendors.
• Ensure pricing, part numbers, delivery dates, and supplier information accuracy.
• Follow up with suppliers to confirm receipt, shipment, and fulfillment status.
• Monitor open orders and expedite to support production schedules.
• Collaborate with planning, receiving, quality, and AP to resolve PO/invoicing issues.
• Maintain ERP records, lead times, and pricing for suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery conditions within defined parameters.
• Support cost reduction initiatives by sourcing alternative suppliers.
• Participate in supplier onboarding and data accuracy reviews.

We currently have an exciting direct-hire opportunity for a Buyer II – 3rd Party/Standards at our U.S. headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia!

The Buyer II – 3rd Party/Standards is responsible for managing the procurement of externally sourced parts, assemblies, and services based on ERP/MRP-generated demand. The role supports operational and production needs by ensuring timely and accurate order placement, vendor communication, and system maintenance. Additionally, manages a defined vendor portfolio and takes ownership of more complex procurement scenarios. Works more independently, negotiates basic terms, tracks supplier performance, and supports cost and lead time improvements.

Targeted Compensation: The targeted compensation range for this position is $77,000.00 - $85,000.00 annually, depending on the selected candidate's qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.

Job Responsibilities

• Review and convert MRP-generated requisitions into Purchase Orders (POs) for third-party vendors.
• Ensure accuracy in pricing, part numbers, delivery dates, and supplier information.
• Follow up with suppliers to confirm receipt, shipment, and fulfillment status.
• Monitor open orders and expedite as necessary to support production schedules.
• Collaborate with internal teams (planning, receiving, quality, AP) to resolve PO/invoicing issues.
• Maintain ERP records, lead times, and pricing for assigned suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and approval workflows.
• Negotiate standard pricing, payment terms, and delivery conditions within defined parameters.
• Support cost reduction initiatives by sourcing alternative suppliers.
• Participate in supplier onboarding and data accuracy reviews.

Required Experience

• Associate’s required; Bachelor’s preferred (Supply Chain, Business) with four to six (4-6) years of purchasing, planning, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• ERP system proficiency required (SAP preferred).
• Knowledge of purchasing analytics/reporting tools is a plus.
• APICS CPIM or CSCP preferred.
• Lean or Six Sigma credentials is a plus.

• Proficient in ERP/MRP systems for purchasing, inventory management, and production planning activities.
• Effective negotiation skills to support supplier agreements, pricing, and delivery outcomes.
• Experience building and maintaining productive supplier relationships through regular interaction and collaboration.
• Ability to make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong cross-functional communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement practical solutions.

Job Requirements

• Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
  • Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
• Willingness and ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically up to 10% as business needs require
• Valid Drivers’ License must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch insurance standards
• Employment with Busch Vacuum Solutions requires current work authorization in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
