Job summary

Vertiv seeks an Intermediate buyer to plan and procure materials, maintain inventory, and support customer demand at optimal cost. You will engage suppliers, manage PO activity, and generate reports to drive operational excellence.

You’ll coordinate with receiving and warehouse teams, track orders, and assist in new product introductions. Strong communication, organization, and ERP experience are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • Degree in purchasing, supply chain management, or related field required.
  • 3–5 years of manufacturing purchasing/administrative experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain records of purchase orders, supplier information, and inventory data.
  • Scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and creating presentations as needed.
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, managing communication.
  • Processing purchase orders, including creating, updating, and tracking orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Conduct basic research on suppliers and products to support purchasing decisions.
  • Monitor and follow up on order statuses with suppliers, addressing discrepancies or delays.
  • Support in managing supplier relationships by assisting in resolving issues and communication.
  • Help maintain accurate inventory levels by coordinating with receiving and warehouse teams.
  • Input, update, and manage data in purchasing/inventory systems, ensuring accuracy.
  • Update customer sales order SSD daily and recommend expedited shipping when necessary.
  • Assist NPDI project team for new product launch.
  • Generate and distribute weekly and monthly reports on purchasing activity, inventory status, and order tracking.
  • Assist with expense tracking and invoice reconciliation.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Intermediate level buyer to join our team. This role is responsible for planning and procuring material to meet customer requirements at an optimal cost. Maintain inventory levels, address shortage and support customer demand. This position also includes supplier engagement and performance management to ensure alignment with customer expectations and overall business objectives.

Qualifications: -
  • Bachelor’s degree in purchasing, supply chain management, or equivalent functional experience required
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing administrative role or purchasing environment preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP (IFS) or purchasing software is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of purchasing processes and inventory management.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
