Job summary

Husco is seeking a Buyer II in Maquoketa, IA to own strategic sourcing decisions, develop supplier partnerships, and drive cost and performance improvements across core components. You’ll collaborate with planning, operations, and production teams to ensure material availability, monitor supplier performance, and mentor junior buyers while advancing Husco’s manufacturing excellence.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
• 3 years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven supplier negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Ready to take ownership of strategic sourcing decisions that directly influence business performance and supply chain success? As a Buyer II with Husco, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by developing sourcing strategies, strengthening supplier relationships, and driving cost and performance improvements. In this role, you’ll collaborate across multiple teams to ensure continuity of supply, support cost reduction initiatives, and help shape procurement decisions that contribute to Husco’s long‑term success.

What You’ll be Doing:

• Lead sourcing and procurement activities for critical components and commodities, driving strategies that support business growth and key operational goals.
• Build strong partnerships with key suppliers and negotiate contracts to secure the best value, quality, and service.
• Monitor supplier performance and lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost, quality, delivery, and reliability.
• Partner with planning, operations, and production teams to ensure material availability and continuity of supply.
• Drive total cost of ownership reduction initiatives and identify opportunities to improve procurement efficiency and value.
• Lead procurement activities that support long‑term strategic goals including new vendor prospecting, onboarding, and development.
• Mentor and support buyers by sharing procurement best practices and expertise.

What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
• 3 years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven supplier negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.
