Abbott in St. Paul, MN, is seeking a Buyer II for a 12-month, 100% onsite assignment. You will manage procurement from multiple suppliers, plan deliveries to support production, and lead meetings with vendors to expedite or push out orders.

The role requires a BS degree and 2–5 years of supply chain experience, with strong SAP and Excel skills. Familiarity with PCBA vendors is a plus, with close collaboration to resolve shortages and ensure timely invoicing.

Title: Buyer II

Location: St. Paul, MN

Duration: 12 Months

100% Onsite

Summary:

Responsible for the procurement and on-going management of parts from a group of different suppliers with low volumes.

• Purchase materials from multiple vendors
• Plan and schedule deliveries to optimize inventory in support of production schedule and business demand by working with planning team
• Facilitate meetings with vendors regarding open orders (both expedite requests and push outs)
• Report weekly/monthly on any shortages and translate to build plan impact
• Drives resolution on shortage resolution with vendor (assisting tier I vendors drive tier II shortage resolution if necessary)
• Responsible for invoice resolution with both vendor and internal AP department
• Work with vendors and internal Receiving team on resolving receiving issues
• Process components for return to the vendor including paperwork, timing for returns, and credits if needed

Past experience working with PCBA vendors a plus. May require a bachelor's degree and 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within supply chain.

Proficient in both SAP and Excel. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals to perform a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; will report to a manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. High School diploma required. BS degree preferred.
