Job summary

Qualifications

• Required: Purchasing, buying, supply chain, or closely related knowledge and/or experience.
• Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience using Microsoft Office, database, internet, supply chain, and related software applications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Supply Chain leadership, Engineering and Operations to understand requirements, budgets, schedules, and other factors.
• Research, identify and evaluate potential vendors/suppliers.
• Quote, negotiate contracts and obtain price, availability and delivery information from vendors.
• Analyze quotations; negotiate prices and terms; recommend vendors based on cost, quality and delivery.
• Review and place Purchase Orders (POs) or bid requests as directed.
• Initiate POs and amendments; coordinate with Engineering to ensure timely sourcing activities.
• Maintain vendor performance data and address discrepancies in quantity, quality, and deliveries.
• Interface with departments to resolve material and purchasing needs and inform management.
