Job summary

Staffing Network is seeking an experienced Buyer for our Elgin, IL client to handle purchasing of technical and complex materials for assigned commodities, including 3rd party and intercompany sources.

The role involves obtaining pricing, issuing POs, resolving supply issues and maintaining MAS/IMS data accuracy to support manufacturing. Strong negotiation, communication, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in a related discipline required.
• At least 1 year of experience in purchasing, materials, supplier management, or related fields.
• Experience with MRP Systems (MAS preferred).
• Ability to manage the efficient supply of special and custom design components.
• Lean process focus.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Must possess excellent communication skills – written, oral and presentation.
• A team player that can take the lead and guide peer departments and functions.

Responsibilities

• Purchase technical and complex materials for assigned commodities (3rd party and intercompany).
• Obtain pricing from approved supply base and issue purchase orders.
• Resolve supply and invoice issues to meet customer demand.
• Manage source models, planning levels, and inventory data accuracy in MAS and IMS.
• Lead commodity strategies to secure long-term, cost-efficient supply.
• Support design to cost activities and engineering changes.
• Provide supplier information to internal partners and coordinate new product introductions.
