Job summary

Komline is a high-growth manufacturing company with operations across ten locations in the US. The Buyer supports procurement and supply chain activities to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, components, equipment, and services to meet manufacturing schedules.

You will collaborate with production, engineering, project management, suppliers, and operations to manage purchasing records, supplier performance, and ERP data while pursuing cost savings and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain management or related field.
• 1–3 years purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing experience.
• ERP/MRP system experience.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders for materials, equipment, and services.
• Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and order status for on-time receipt.
• Evaluate supplier quotations, pricing, lead times, terms for purchasing decisions.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, project management, and inventory teams on requirements.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding order acknowledgments, delivery commitments, and quality concerns.
• Maintain purchasing records, supplier data, pricing, and procurement docs in ERP.

About the Role: TheBuyerplays a critical role by supporting procurement and supply chain activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, components, equipment, and services. The Buyer will work closely with production, engineering, project management, suppliers, and operations teams to support manufacturing schedules, inventory requirements, and customer commitments while maintaining strong supplier relationships and procurement best practices.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders for materials, equipment, and services required to support manufacturing and business operations
• Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and order status to ensure on-time receipt of purchased items
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, pricing, lead times, and terms to support purchasing decisions
• Collaborate with engineering, production, project management, and inventory teams to identify procurement requirements and priorities
• Communicate with suppliers regarding order acknowledgments, delivery commitments, quality concerns, and corrective actions
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information, pricing data, and procurement documentation within the ERP system
• Assist in resolving receiving discrepancies, invoice issues, quality concerns, and supplier performance challenges
• Support inventory management initiatives by monitoring stock levels and replenishment requirements
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supplier consolidation
• Assist with supplier qualification, performance reviews, and ongoing supplier relationship management activities
• Generate purchasing reports and provide procurement-related data to management as needed
• May require occasional travel to supplier locations and industry events
• Other duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred
• One to three years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory control, or manufacturing experience preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• Desire to be a part of an entrepreneurial, energetic team and handle a wide range of responsibilities
• Experience working within an ERP/MRP system
• Possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Communicating effectively with people at all levels with internal and external stakeholders
• Highly organized and able to work within rigid time constraints with superb attention to detail
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Ability to handle competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and a positive attitude
