Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in business or technical discipline plus one year buying experience; or high school diploma/GED with three+ years purchasing experience.
  • Knowledge of purchasing practices, materials, and market dynamics within a specialization.
  • Hybrid remote work schedule; ability to travel to designated office as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze purchase requisitions.
  • Prepare and solicit bids.
  • Issue RFQs/IFIs and review quotations.
  • Negotiate for goods, supplies, equipment, and services.
  • Prepare purchase orders and distribute to suppliers and internal departments.
  • Communicate sourcing requirements and resolve related commercial/technical issues.
  • Manage procurement plan and pricing strategy to meet cost objectives.
  • Resolve purchasing issues between Oceaneering and vendors.
  • Perform purchasing administration with minimal supervision.

Executes the process of low complexity ordering of goods, supplies, equipment, and services in accordance with prescribed purchasing policies, regulations, and procedures. Understands schedules, risks to orders and manages a supplier's individual order performance to requirements. Monitors and reports status and progress of orders to procurement leaders.

Responsibilities
  • Reviews and analyzes purchase requisitions.
  • Prepares and solicits bids.
  • Issues requests for quotes/information.
  • Review quotations.
  • Negotiates for the purchase of goods, supplies, equipment, and services.
  • Prepares purchase orders and sends copies to suppliers and to departments originating requests.
  • Ensures the communication of technical, quality, legal, and commercial requirement sourcing information for goods and services, and facilitates the resolution of commercial, quality, and technical issues related to sourced goods, both internal and external to Oceaneering.
  • Manages procurement plan and pricing strategy to support cost objectives and works to ensure delivery schedules are adequate to support project and operational needs.
  • Resolves purchasing issues between OII and vendors.
  • Performs administrative activities in support of the purchasing function.
  • Able to work independently with little or no supervision.
Required
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A four-year degree in business or a technical discipline plus One (1) year of buying experience. In lieu of a degree, high school diploma or general education degree (GED); and minimum three (3+) plus years of associated experience in purchasing.
  • Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures, materials, products, and the commodity market in an area of specialization.
  • A self-motivated individual who adapts quickly with today's virtual knowledge, self-disciplined with a hybrid - remotely work schedule. Employees are expected to be able to travel to their designated office as scheduled or as needed.
Working Conditions
  • Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night.
  • Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the work place.
