Job summary

Pursuit Aerospace, located in Manchester, CT, is seeking a Buyer I to support day-to-day purchasing activities, process purchase orders, monitor deliveries, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure materials are available to support production.

Working under guidance from senior buyers, you will gain hands-on experience with ERP systems, supplier communication, and manufacturing supply processes while building foundational procurement and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of purchasing, supply chain, or manufacturing operations experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

About the Opportunity:

The Buyer I supports day-to-day purchasing activities, including processing purchase orders, monitoring deliveries, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure materials are available to support production. Working under guidance from senior buyers, Buyer I gains hands‑on experience with ERP systems, supplier communication, and manufacturing supply processes while building foundational procurement and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities:

• Executes purchase orders and manages routine buying activities

• Maintains data accuracy in ERP/MRP systems

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of purchasing, supply chain, or manufacturing operations experience
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full‑time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full‑time basis.
• Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field
• Aerospace and/or manufacturing experience
• Strong understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and other process optimization tools to drive efficiency and readiness.
• Familiarity with MRP messages, purchase requirements, deferring/requesting material based on suggested need dates, and an understanding of Bill of Materials.
• Experience working and communicating with suppliers
• Ability to manage cross‑functional and matrixed teams and drive collaboration across departments.
• Ability to analyze production data, identify trends, and make informed decisions regarding readiness planning and process improvement.
• Experience working in a fast‑paced environment requires you to pivot and adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions.
• Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Working Conditions

• Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
• Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
• Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
• Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
