Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Buyer/Procurement Specialist to drive strategic purchasing for spaceflight programs. You will manage RFx, cost analyses, and supplier negotiations to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of materials and services.

The role emphasizes process improvement, compliance with supply chain standards, and ownership of procurement activities from requisition through payment. A related degree and 0–3 years of experience are required.

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a hardworking team of professionals, specialists, and engineers, you will develop strategic procurement solutions and complete day to day tactical purchasing functions for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of supply chain operations, driving organizational and policy change to enhance Blue Origin’s bottom‑line.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Our Buyer will ensure program requirements are appropriately prioritized and executed to meet the needs Blue Origin.
• They will be competent in Blue Origin Supply Chain compliance standards, strategies, and initiatives.
• Prepare and issue Requests for Proposal/ Requests for Quote, performing cost analysis in support of proposals, and have developed negotiation strategies and led formal negotiations.
• Construct various contracting types for major procurement activities to meet the requirements of the programs and needs of the business to include long range procurement agreements, sourcing partnerships, continuous improvement initiatives, and identification of opportunities for enhanced efficiencies.
• Take ownership of the procurement process from requisition creation through final payment of invoices and are accountable to resolve issues within this process. Supplier management is a critical aspect of the job.
• Lead identification, implementation, negotiation, execution, and management of strategic agreements (i.e., Long-Term Agreements (LTAs)) where mutually beneficial.
• Support the overall procurement organization’s strategic direction and ensure corporate strategic objectives are achieved to include delivery of production materials that are on time, within budget and meet technical performance requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or similar education
• 0-3 years of progressive procurement experience; supplier identification, supplier evaluation, negotiation, and supplier development across multiple products, services, and commodities
• Positive, can-do mentality· Ability to organize and manage multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced demanding environment
• Must be able to effectively communicate with a broad range of people across, up and down all levels of the organization
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Certification
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
• Varied experience in Machined Parts, Raw Material, Electronics, and Outplant Services buying
