Job summary

Williams Plumbing in Belgrade, MT is seeking a Buyer to manage purchasing and material coordination across operations. You will negotiate pricing, create and track purchase orders, coordinate deliveries, and ensure materials arrive on time and within budget.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Business Admin, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field, with procurement experience in mechanical contracting or construction. Proficiency with procurement software and MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required or strongly preferred.
• Experience in purchasing or procurement for mechanical contracting, construction, HVAC, or plumbing is ideal.
• Proficiency with procurement software and MS Office is expected.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing of materials and supplies from PO creation through completion.
• Build vendor relationships and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate deliveries with vendors, warehouse, field teams, and project stakeholders.
• Track purchases, costs, delivery dates, invoices, and procurement docs.
• Manage material returns and related vendor credits and paperwork.
• Support inventory billing, invoice reconciliation, and job costing.
• Monitor pricing, availability, lead times, freight costs, and market trends.
• Research new materials and equipment for performance, reliability, safety and cost.
• Identify opportunities to improve purchasing and warehousing processes.

You'll work closely with vendors, warehouse and field teams, and management to negotiate pricing, manage purchase orders and deliveries, and ensure our teams have the right materials at the right time and cost.

What You’ll Do

What You Bring

• Knowledge of construction/trade materials and supply chain processes.
• Experience managing a high volume of purchase orders and competing deadlines.
• Understanding of shipping, freight, logistics, lead times, invoicing, and job costing.
• Proficiency with procurement software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong organization, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
