Job description

Buyer Graham, NC

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Responsible for negotiating components, equipment, supplies from vendors/suppliers
  2. Accurately enter purchase orders into ERP system with expected ship date upon issuance of order
  3. Improve purchasing procedures and controls document and implement procedures
  4. Expedite supply and prioritize suppliers to meet emergency, short lead time, demands according to service, project and inventory supply needs
  5. Work with internal customers to expedite and resolve supply issues
  6. Provide delivery dates to project managers, service, and operations
  7. Accountable for Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s): On Time Delivery; PO Backlog; PO Accuracy (ship date, price, account, etc.); Premium Freight
  8. Qualify, source, and negotiate, with an emphasis to identify cost reduction opportunities with suppliers
  9. Continuously evaluate the performance of the current supply base, map and identify new suppliers and establish and maintain relationships with the key suppliers
  10. Daily interaction with engineering and suppliers
  11. Manage sourcing activities in project phase and act as the main interface towards suppliers and internal projects during the entire project phase
  12. Be an active member in the network of Project Buyers
  13. Measure key supplier performance and drive resolution to issues by understanding supplier capacities and capabilities
  14. Drive elimination of supplier defects received, and process returned material within 48 hours
Job Responsibilities:
  1. 5-8 years of direct purchasing experience in an OEM environment
  2. Proven experience within materials management situations (inventory control, physical inventory and logistics)
  3. Strong working knowledge of mechanical items and electrical components
  4. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school or US Military in Business Administration, Materials Management, Accounting, or Logistics preferred
  5. Competent computer skills with ERP system, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  6. Ability to organize, evaluate, prioritize tasks, risks, resources, milestones and deliverables
  7. Self-starter and ability to multi-task in fast paced environment
