Job summary

JBL Resources in Pittsburgh is seeking a driven procurement specialist to join a manufacturing organization focused on quality and continuous improvement. You will manage purchasing for raw materials, components, and MRO, coordinating with ERP/MRP systems and cross-functional teams.

You will develop production schedules, analyze material requirements, maintain inventory accuracy, and pursue cost savings while upholding safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1–3 years in purchasing, planning, or related supply chain roles in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, MFG Pro, JDE).
  • MS Excel proficiency and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities with stakeholder engagement.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced setting.
  • APICS CPIM/CSCP certification preferred.
  • Experience with legacy ERP systems, especially MFG Pro.
  • Medical device or regulated manufacturing sector experience.
  • Multi-stakeholder coordination and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Executing purchase orders for raw materials, components, and MRO items.
  • Monitor supplier performance, resolve quality, delivery, and pricing issues, maintain supplier relationships.
  • Analyze material requirements and production schedules for timely material availability.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules based on forecasts, inventory, and capacity.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to optimize material flow.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and participate in cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in procurement and planning.
  • Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, inventory status, and production performance.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement and planning functions.
  • Preparing and presenting reports on purchasing activities, inventory status, and production performance.
  • Adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in purchasing, planning, or related supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, MFG Pro, or JDE.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with a knack for stakeholder engagement.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.
  • APICS certifications such as CPIM or CSCP
  • Experience with legacy ERP systems, especially MFG Pro.
  • Medical device or regulated manufacturing sector experience.
  • Past involvement in projects with multi-stakeholder coordination and process improvements.
