Job summary

Alabama Power is seeking a Buyer to support sourcing and procurement activities for Plants Calhoun, Central, Greene County, Lindsay Hill, Sabic, and the NCCC. You will locate sources of supply, issue RFQs, analyze bids, negotiate terms, create purchase orders, expedite, and resolve supplier problems while engaging with business unit partners.

You will spend considerable time communicating with partners across Plants and Corporate Supply Chain to ensure timely, cost-effective procurement aligned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, finance, or engineering preferred.
• Supply chain or legal certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing and procurement activities to support identified plants and units.
• Issue requests for quotes (RFQs) and analyze bids.
• Negotiate terms with suppliers and vendors.
• Create purchase orders for inventory, non-stock materials and services.
• Expedite orders and resolve supplier problems as needed.
• Communicate and collaborate with business unit partners to ensure sourcing needs are met.
