Job summary

SRC Industrial is seeking a Buyer and Materials Planning Coordinator in Springfield, MO. This role focuses on aligning purchasing with scheduling and production to prevent shortages and cost variances.

You'll work closely with warehouse, engineering, and accounting teams to optimize material flow and supplier performance. The position requires strong data analysis, ERP/MRP experience, and proficiency with Excel and Power BI.

• 5+ years in warehousing, scheduling, manufacturing, inventory control, material planning, or purchasing.
• Ability to pri­oritize urgent work, follow through, and communicate across departments and suppliers.

• ERP/MRP experience preferred; Infor CSI/SyteLine and Power BI experience preferred.
• Purchasing experience preferred but not required; willingness to develop purchasing skills quickly.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This purchasing position will be working with Scheduling, Warehouse, Production, Accounting, Engineering, and suppliers to proactively connect buying with Scheduling, Warehouse, Accounting and Engineering.

The focus will be purchasing and inventory planning to identify shortages, inventory discrepancies, supplier risks, and pricing discrepancies before they affect production, customer commitments, or cost performance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• 5+ Years experience in warehousing, scheduling, manufacturing, inventory control, material planning, or purchasing.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize urgent work, follow through on commitments, and communicate clearly across departments and with suppliers.
• Strong Excel and data-analysis skills; able to use data to identify and explain material or inventory risks.
• ERP/MRP experience preferred; Infor CSI/SyteLine and Power BI experience preferred.
• Purchasing experience is preferred but not required; successful candidate must demonstrate the ability and interest to develop purchasing skills quickly.
• Ability to work effectively with Warehouse, Scheduling, Production, Engineering, Accounting, and Purchasing teams.

Work is performed mostly in a controlled atmosphere. Some exposure to harsh conditions—such as: dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures—for short periods of time is possible. This employee will be required to demonstrate continued knowledge of Haz/Com regulations and requirements. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.

Physical Demands:

Standing 20%, sitting, 60%, walking 20%. This position requires occasional physical effort including lifting, pushing and pulling material weighing up to 20 pounds. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk and hear.

1st shift: Monday - Friday 6:30-3:00, overtime on 5am start time and on Saturdays as needed
