Job summary

Dicastal North America, Inc. seeks a motivated purchasing professional to source materials and services for manufacturing needs, balancing lowest cost with quality, service, and on-time delivery across supplier networks.

You will use ERP systems, travel to supplier sites, negotiate terms and prices, coordinate with engineering for specs, and manage MRO purchases while supporting lean initiatives and cost-savings targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field.
• Experience in purchasing/materials preferred (0-3 years).
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts and supplier evaluations.
• SAP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Visual ERP systems and manual requisitions to drive materials replenishment process.
• Travel to suppliers and assist in managing supplier relations and performance.
• Engage in negotiations of pricing, terms, delivery, and vendor quality to optimize costs.
• Collaborate with engineering to secure drawings and specs for accurate bid processes.
• Manage outside processes and subcontract services as required.
• Expedite materials to support production and customer requirements.
• Identify and drive cost savings through supplier relationships and process improvements.
• Develop new sources for materials to optimize supply chain.
• Handle all duties related to purchase of MRO items.
• Participate in lean events impacting the department and organization.

Job description

To source, select and procure materials and services from suppliers to support Company needs for materials and services at the lowest cost consistent with accepted standards of quality and service within established time frames.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize Visual ERP systems and manual requisitions to drive materials replenishment process.
• Travel to suppliers and assist in managing existing supplier relations. This includes but is not limited to participating in development of new products, team sourcing, visiting suppliers, evaluating supplier performance, and meeting with suppliers concerning problems or other issues related to materials.
• Engage in detailed negotiations of pricing, terms, delivery, service, and vendor quality to purchase materials or services, and optimize company’s investment.
• Collaborate with engineering to secure drawings, specifications, etc. to allow for accurate bid process with qualified suppliers.
• Manage outside process/secondary operations such as secondary machining, heat treating operations, and additional subcontract services as required
• Stay informed of new technologies that can be incorporated into the supply base.
• Expedite materials as required to support customer/ production requirements
• Deliver annual cost savings goals by effectively managing supplier relationships, negotiation, process improvements, and related techniques to enhance total cost advantage
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in services or supplies received regarding price, quantity, etc.
• Develop new sources for materials and services to optimize supply chain effectiveness
• Responsible for all duties related to the purchase of MRO (maintenance, repair, operations) items.
• Participating in lean events that impact both your department and the organization as a whole
• Perform related duties as required.

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field
• 0-3 years related purchasing/materials experience preferred, combination ofskills and manufacturing experience may be considered
• Must understand and be able to work with supplies to identify Quality Lean Manufacturing Operations and their presence or absence at suppliers facilities.
• SAP software experience preferred
• Experience in sourcing aluminum A356, paints, coolant fluids is a plus
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Strong written and oral communication skills
