Job summary

Wheels, Inc. in Schaumburg, IL seeks a Buyer to procure vehicles for emergency and executive transportation needs.

You will locate vehicles at the best price within 24 hours, purchase client-located and used cars, and coordinate with Account Executives to ensure smooth stock purchases. The role requires strong negotiation, customer service, and knowledge of fleet incentives, rebates, and title/registration processes across states, Canada, and Puerto Rico.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Dealership or automobile industry experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Locate vehicles at the best price within 24 hours and purchases unit upon receipt of authorization
  • Purchase client-located and used vehicles from dealerships, as necessary
  • Communicate effectively with Account Executive and other Client Service personnel regarding all aspects of the stock purchase transaction
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of fleet incentives, retail rebates, and customer eligibility
  • Demonstrate product knowledge for all makes models of cars and trucks including high-end and foreign vehicles for executive purchase programs
  • Demonstrate understanding of the differences between fleet and retail vehicle specifications
  • Establish and maintain business relationships with dealers and act as primary liaison between Wheels and dealer during the stock purchase transaction
  • Develop and utilize knowledge of title, registrations, and tax requirements as they apply to leased vehicles for all states, Canada, and Puerto Rico
  • Coordinate local deliveries, as necessary
  • Occasionally purchase dealer stock vehicles and process in a manner that simulates a factory order
  • Occasionally provide personal, executive, and prize car purchase assistance and effect payment and title and registration through Wheels
  • Assist another dept with incentive and rebate collection
  • Obtain billings for all units purchased to ensure timely payment and client billing
  • Obtain and proof for accuracy for all units
  • Resolve all dealer issues related to stock purchases, i.e., charge backs, billing discrepancies, delivery delays, missing, and incorrect information
  • Use applicable Wheels computer systems and Dealer Communication Systems effectively
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with Direct Contact Clients
  • Assist other areas, as necessary

Job Description: The Buyer performs several diverse tasks to procure vehicles from dealerships throughout the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico to satisfy the emergency and executive transportation needs of Wheels clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

JOB SPECIFICATIONS, PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment: This hybrid position sits in Schaumburg, Ill or Alpharetta, GA (Internal Wheels' Employees only) and operates in a professional office environment; 3 days onsite (Wednesday is required in office); 8a-5p CT Position Type/Standard Schedule: This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday; Potential overtime when workload is heavy Travel: Occasional travel (less than 10%) is expected for this position to visit with client; Very rare Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly talk and hear and use hands and fingers to operate call center tools.

Pay Range: $47,300-$66,200

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan which is based on company performance and individual performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience, education, certifications, skill level and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
