The primary goal is satisfying customer requirements of quality, quantity, and delivery, in a safe manner, while maximizing productivity. Specifically, the Buyer is responsible for purchasing and negotiation of materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors. These activities include but are not limited to acting as the liaison at all levels between corporate, estimating, engineering, jobsites, remote offices, and services/spare parts and coordinating activities with manufacturing, engineering, sales and accounting.

Other Responsibilities

• Approves the choice of vendors and authorizes purchase orders based on business needs
• Research, identify and evaluate potential vendors and facilitate vendor selection
• Estimates fabricated mechanical and electrical components for entire organization
• Follow internal control procurement policies and procedures
• Develop specific annual purchasing objectives for assigned areas including cost reduction and quality improvement
• Prepares detailed cost tables to justify bidding, outsourcing and budgetary goals, and documentation to support budgetary and estimating requirements
• Perform other duties as directed
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer literacy is a requirement. (Excel, Project, PowerPoint and Word)
• Purchasing type MRP system (SAP) knowledge preferred

Education and Experience

• Minimum 1 year purchasing, sourcing, or planning experience.
• Motivated individual capable of learning and working as a team to procure parts, components, and services.
• Must be willing to service internal customers.
• Ambitious, eager and hard working.
