Job summary

Siemens Energy in Orlando, FL is seeking a Buyer to support procurement operations by sourcing materials and services and coordinating with internal stakeholders and suppliers to meet project objectives.

Daily tasks include analyzing purchasing requirements, issuing RFQs, evaluating supplier proposals, and negotiating pricing and terms to ensure timely delivery and contract compliance. This role contributes to supply chain performance and business success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of procurement, purchasing, strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and assess market conditions.

  • Execute purchasing strategies and procure materials and services for operations and projects.
  • Analyze requisitions, supply plans, and demand to ensure timely domestic and international procurement.
  • Develop and issue RFQs, evaluate proposals, negotiate pricing and terms.
  • Build and maintain supplier relationships and resolve delivery, quality, and invoicing issues.
  • Conduct market research and value analysis to identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Support make-versus-buy evaluations and continuous improvement in procurement.

How You'll Make An Impact


  • Execute purchasing strategies and manage the procurement of materials and services to support operational and project requirements.

  • Analyze requisitions, supply plans, and demand requirements to ensure timely procurement of domestic and international purchases.

  • Develop and issue RFQs, evaluate supplier proposals, and negotiate pricing, payment terms, and quality requirements.

  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while resolving delivery, quality, and invoicing issues to ensure contract compliance.

  • Conduct market research and value analysis to identify cost reduction opportunities and improve sourcing effectiveness.

  • Support make‑versus‑buy evaluations, alternative sourcing initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts within the procurement function.


What You Bring


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field; in lieu of a degree, a High School Diploma/GED with equivalent progressive procurement experience may be considered.

  • 3-5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiations.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with experience identifying cost‑saving opportunities and evaluating market conditions.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/Purchasing systems, preferably SAP.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
