Job summary

Hypertherm Associates in New Brighton, MN seeks a Buyer to support our Waterjet team within a fast-paced JIT manufacturing setting. You will ensure timely PO execution, support Kanban and Min/Max replenishment, and monitor supplier performance to prevent production delays.

The ideal candidate has 0-2 years in planning/purchasing, solid Excel skills, and experience with Oracle. This role offers an employee-owned culture and ESOP benefits.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0-2 years’ experience in planning/purchasing or related field.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Changes Processes.
  • Proficient in Oracle.
  • Knowledge of Parts Management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Basic Negotiations.
  • Strong written and verbal communications.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and efficient execution of all Purchase Orders and releases for suppliers.
  • Manage exceptions and support replenishment methods for inventory items.
  • Analyze production schedules, supplier promises and delivery performance.
  • Expedite current production and mitigate potential disruptions.
  • Execute return-to-supply process for debit memos.
  • Support Master Schedulers and Category Managers with accurate data.
  • Support the production plan by evaluating on-hand quantities and consumption rates.
  • Assist with other projects for the work area as assigned.

Job description

BuyerHypertherm Associates is seeking a Buyer who will support our Waterjet team in New Brighton, MN, and be accountable for maintaining optimal quantity of supplied goods in a cost-effective manner to support a JIT manufacturing environment to ensure scheduled production is never lost.As a Buyer you will:Ensure timely and efficient execution of all Purchase Orders and releases for suppliers and managing exceptionsSupport the daily execution of replenishment methods (i.e., Kanban, Min Max) for all inventory items to ensure continuity of supply and inventory accuracy while optimizing productionAnalyze and monitor supply data (i.e., production schedules, supplier promise dates and delivery performance) to expedite current production, resolve supply related production issues, and proactively mitigate potential future disruptions in productionExecute the return to supply process to ensure debit memos are generate for product returned to suppliersSupport Master Schedulers and Category Managers by providing accurate and timely data (e.g., packing list and invoice accuracy) to comply with treasury and accounting practicesSupport the production plan by continually evaluating on-hand quantity needs, on-hand supplier quantities and consumption rates to maximize production and minimize inventory write-offs of components undergoing ECs in support of the product life-cycleSupport other projects for their work area and team as assignedWho you are and the experience you bring:Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 0-2 years’ experience in planning/purchasing or related fieldKnowledge of Engineering Changes ProcessesProficient in OracleKnowledge of Parts ManagementProficient in Microsoft ExcelBasic NegotiationsStrong written and verbal communicationsStrong attention to detailKnowledge of a manufacturing environmentPreferred experience to differentiate you:A.S.
